Improving people’s lives in Northern Ireland

Caring with a difference
at Kirk House

News

BCM has been working in partnership with the University of Ulster and will hold the Age Friendly Innovation Workshop on Thursday 19th October at Kirk House.

Congratulations to the whole team at Kirk House who won the Independent Health Care Team Award and to Andrea, Kirk House Manager who was the runner-up in the Leadership Award.

Independent Health and Care Providers (ihcp) is a non-profit making organisation representing private, voluntary, charitable and church affiliated providers of health and social care.

Sadie, a resident of Kirk House, celebrated her 107th Birthday on 26th September.

She has reached a great milestone in life and on behalf of everyone at BCM we would like to wish you good health and happiness in life. Happy birthday! We hope that you had a good time on this special day of yours.

Sadie was celebrating together with her family, staff members and residents of Kirk House and she has received a Birthday letter from the Queen.

The photos below were taken during a Birthday party at Kirk House.

We would like to say thank you to Super Valu, Kings Square for organising a pyjamas day recently and raising a fantastic amount of £248.49 in aid of Kirk House, 'Engages All' Intergenerational Programme. The residents and staff members who went to help had great fun.

Thank you to those who contributed.

A group of our Cygnets children from BCM's Puddleducks Day Nursery had an exciting morning of fun and games with some of the residents of BCM Kirk House. They taught the residents some of their favourite action songs, blew and caught bubbles, played with the balloons and parachute and then drew pictures that the residents could keep in their room before they shared their Haribo sweeties with the residents!

The children and residents really enjoyed their time together yesterday morning and Puddleducks would love to be able to do this more often!
